On Sep. 11th 2017, the president of the Assyrian Aid Society-Iraq Mr. Ashur Eskrya, met with a delegation from the US State Department headed by Mr. Knox Thames Special Advisor for Religious Minorities in the Near East and South / Central Asia US Department of State and Mr. Sean Comber Foreign Affairs Officer Office of International Religious Freedom, Ms. Susan Notar Office of Global Criminal Justice and Ms. Shari Ulery of the Political Office of the US Consulate in Erbil.

 

The meeting discussed the reality of the religious and ethnic components for post-ISIS, as well as the situation of the displaced people, as well as the situation of the displaced people and means to return them to their areas and the need to restore confidence among the components of the social fabric of the liberated areas, in addition to that the need to increase support for those areas that were considered devastated through the destruction caused by the terrorist organization of ISIS, the meeting also discussed the referendum subject and its repercussions on the Nineveh Plain.
