As a result of the incidents of forced displacement that occurred to various areas of Iraq by the terrorists of ISIS in 2014, which led to the families living in Al-Hamdaniyah district leaving their homes to escape the oppression of terrorists, of which, many of them left the country as immigrants to other countries in seeking of safety, job opportunities and living freely, after the liberation of these lands, many of these families returned to their areas of residence, and due to the lack of job opportunities in these areas and in order to stabilize the young people in this land and to keep them away from immigration, the Assyrian Aid Society-Iraq, with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is implementing the project to restore and equip (7) green shops in Bakhdida and Bartella in the Hamdaniya district in order to promote economic activities in the region. The project aims to support the economic initiatives, increase livelihood opportunities, and contribute to encouraging the permanent return of the displaced in the region. It is hoped that the AAS-Iraq will complete the implementation of the project in the near future.
